How to Sync a PS4 Controller

You just bought an extra PS4 controller but can’t figure out how to get them synced with your PS4. Or maybe your current controller doesn’t sync. We know it can be frustrating when there’s an issue pairing the two. Don’t worry. It’s very simple to sync your PS4 controller to your PS4. Just follow the steps below, and you’ll be good to go.

Method 1. Sync PS4 Controller Using a Micro USB Cable

To sync your current PS4 controller, you’ll need a micro USB cable to connect with your PS4.

1. Turn on your PS4 by pressing the power button.

2. Connect the controller to the console using the micro USB cable.

3. Now on your controller, press and hold the PS button for a few seconds.

4. You’ll then see a “Controller Connected” message on your screen. You can remove the USB cable from the controller and use it wirelessly.

Method 2. Unpairing Connected Controller

If the problem persists, try removing your previously synced controller from PS4 and try the above method again.

1. For removing the synced controller, go to the Settings > Devices > Bluetooth Devices.

2. Select the previously synced controller and press the Options button on your PS4 controller.

3. Then a Forget Device option will appear. Press the X button on your PS4 controller, and done.

Method 3. Hard Resetting The PS4 Controller

You can also try hard resetting your controller.

1. To hard reset, your PS4 controller, find the small reset hole on the back of the controller.

2. Use a small pin or a paperclip and insert it to push the button in the reset hole.

3. Hold the button for a few seconds, and this will reset the controller.

4. Now try again Method 1 mentioned above to sync your PS4 controller.
