Note: Once you change the folder’s picture, you can no longer see the preview thumbnail of the content inside the folder until you restore it.
Change Folder Picture in Windows 10
1. Right-click on the folder you want to change the icon of and click on Properties.
2. Now click on Customize.
3. Under Customize, click on Choose file… under Folder pictures.
4. Now browse to where you have saved the image file, select the image file and click Open.
5. Click on Apply and close the Properties dialog box.
Restore the Default Folder Picture in Windows 10
1. To restore the folder icon to default, right-click on the folder and click on Properties.
2. Now click on Customize.
3. Under Customize, click on the Restore Default button under Folder pictures.
4. Click on Apply and close the Properties dialog box.
